I was excited to finally attend my first hacking camp earlier this month. I'd never been to one before so I didnt know what to expect. I travelled there with a few of my Danish friends and we filled up the van with a lot of my vintage equipment. A bit of a squeeze but we managed to get it all in. |
Sounds like fun! What stuff did you bring? |
I bought along a 1970's Hazeltine 1420 dumb terminal. Mostly because my friend wanted to use it with his
home built Z80 Computer. (You can read more about that here) There was also an IBM PS/2 55sx, a dot matrix printer, a Pentium III Windows 98 tower, my Toshiba Libretto and a few pieces of radio equipment. |
Wow! Thats a lot of stuff! |
It was! It took multiple journeys between the van and our tent but eventually we got everything in. Once we were all set up, the event had a lot to offer. Lots of panels on just about any area of technology you could imagine. We stayed in the furry village so a lot of the time was spent with the strange fluffy animal people. I didnt go to many of the actual panels since most of the time was just spend exploring the site. My personal favourite of the events I went to was "Look Mum No Computer". I had been watching his YouTube channel for some time and it was great to finally see his crazy setups in person. His show didnt go too well since he hadnt prepared a whole lott but it was still great fun all round. Speaking of YouTube, I even got featured in James Bruton's video. See here (timestamp 6:05) I think at this point it's best if I just show you the pictures since there was way more going on than I could possibly talk about here. |
Cool! Let's see the pictures! |
