Early in July I visited Iceland for the first time. I was staying right in the middle of Reykjavik. Just around the corner from the famous Hallgrimskirkja. Built in the 1940s it's a striking brutalist design and dmoniates the skyline and is one of the largest attractions in the city. |
That's a cool design! Looks a lot like a strange spaceship. What else did you see? |
The city is dotted with interesting and unusual shops and houses. The architecture is very typically scandanavian. Lots of small timber frame buildings and narrow walkable streets. Here are a selection of interesting buildings in the city. |
We also ventured out of the city. A lot of the landscape is incredibly volcanic, surreal and alien looking. |
Are you sure you travelled to the right planet this time? It wouldnt be your first navigational mistake... |
I hope I got the right planet as i'd love to go there again some time! |
